Current Projects
|
| 1. High Performance Biocomputing Cluster I manage a high performance biocomputing cluster, which has 24 dual processor Apple XServe G5 nodes. A lot of biocomputing tools are hosted in the cluster with a unified web interface. I develop new bioinformatics applications to facilitate researchers who need bioinformatics support. I also parallelize existing tools to make them cluster-aware using MPI. |
| 2. Bamboo phylogeny database I am setting up a server for Dr. Scot Kelchner's phylogeny of bamboos project. I design and develop a bamboo phylogenetics system using J2EE technologies and PostgreSQL as the backend. |
| 3. Finch sequence management system I admin and maintain the Finch sequence data management system for Molecular Core Facility (MRCF) at ISU. |

Current Research Projects
|
| I am currently interested in developing methods for high-throughput estimation of selective pressures acting on individual human genes |
